What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a system of health care which involves the insertion of thin needles into carefully selected points on the body. The points are used to engage the body's’ internal communication system in order to bring about balance and therapeutic effect.

Does acupuncture hurt?


Different sensations from warmth,  tingling, to slight pressure  may be observed  between each person and each point. Overall the treatment is very relaxing and any discomfort associated is  temporary. Most patients report feeling euphoric to completely relaxed.

Why get acupuncture?

What should I expect for my first treatment?

Wear loose fitting clothes. Points selected tend to be on arms, legs, abdomen and back.  Acupuncture can produce effects of Euphoria and deep relaxation. Our best is done to have you feeling relaxed and alert enough to drive home safely, but if you have any concerns please arrange for a ride to bring you to the appointment.

What other treatment services are provided?

Cupping, a form of inverse massage using glass cups is available by request. As well as Tuina- Asian bodywork, facial acupuncture, and nutritional counseling.
