Canodia
(Foundation to support Cambodian children)

On a visit to Cambodia in 2006 I saw a flyer recommending tourists to visit a small classroom that was built and run by monks in Ankor Wat. Ten minutes after arriving at the school I found myself teaching English to a group of young children as there volunteer teacher had just lsft.  The monks and the children were captivating and so eager to learn that I found myself going back there every afternoon for the next week. It is at this school that I met Gerry Valois. He guided me to visiting and volunteering and the Cambodian Children's Home in Phnom Pehn.

The children at CCH were all so amazing and full of hope. Below is a link to a fictional short story that one of the children sent to me when she was 12. Although fiction, the story has many notes of truth and sounds similar to many of the children's actual life stories.

Soon after meeting Gerry he started Canodia- a foundation to help the children of Cambodia- I am very grateful for all of Gerry's efforts and what he has created and done for these children over the last several years.
